Hooked Up
Don't worry, I'm okay. I've just had daily irregular heart palpitations for over a year now and I finally went to see a cardiologist about it. I'm pretty sure I'm okay but I just wanted to make sure I was having benign PVCs and not any reentrant rhythms or whatnot. My follow up is on June 4 so I'll let you guys know.
BTW: Holter monitors (24hr EKGs) are NOT fun. It was so itchy and my chest is still covered in that leftover tape goo. Ugh. It was hard to sleep and the wires kept getting tangled on my pants. It was lame.

On January 1, 2008 I had to go the emergency room because of heart palpitations. The doctors sent me home wearing this Holter Monitor. It keeps track of my heartbeats and records any unusual activity. At $500.00 a day, it's definitely going to put a dent in my wallet. I'm probably going to have to sell my camera. =(
There's no explanation for my heart palpitations. I don't have any history of heart disease and I am definitely NOT overweight. I eat a strict vegan diet and exercise on a daily basis. I don't drink caffeine or alcohol - only water. I don't smoke or do drugs. I don't even take over-the-counter medications if I can avoid it. I'd rather let my body fight off an infection than use antibiotics. (Which, by the way, are becoming resistant to disease due to overuse.) I'm only 20 years old. I take care of my body. I shouldn't have to deal with something like this.
I found that computer chip on the running track at my high school and liked it so much that I turned it into a necklace. It looks like it might have been part of a remote control. To me, every computer chip is a miniature work of art. :)
