Ce cher Fidel Castro, dirigeant communiste de Cuba a démissionné. Après plus d'un demi-siècle comme leader, il rennonce à son pouvoir. Tous les grands hommes de la politique sont surpris et certains sont à la fois sceptiques tant qu'à la possibilité d'une démocratie cubaine. Leurs propos viennent du fait que Fidel n'utilisait déjà plus son pouvoir depuis environ un an et demi pour des raisons de santé. Depuis, rien ne s'est amélioré à Cuba. Qui sera donc le nouveau dirigeant? On espère une démocratie cette fois-ci...

Fidel quickly showed he was no democrat and his embrace of the Soviet Union began a cold war between Cuba and the U.S. that has lasted almost 50 years. Viva - long live - is an apt phrase, as the dictator is still alive and residing in Havana, although his brother Raul is now president. Castro's rule spanned the terms of 10 U.S. presidents!
